The 560 kg rule for gyrocopters is what is found in Annex II of the EG journal number 216/2008. That is to say that gyrocopters up to that weight is not regulated by EASA, but are subjects for the national CAA’s in Europe. What the national CAA’s wants to do with it is another matter. In Sweden the CAA has decided that gyrocopters up to 560 kg are ultralight gyrocopters. I do not know if the MTO-Sport or the Calidus are designed for more than 450 kg (but it seems that the design load is 500 kg according to what Herrn Birkner is writing below). Anyway, for the Swedish market it seems OK for AutoGyro GmbH, if so wished, to start to designing their gyrocopters for 600 kg, leaving a safety margin of 40 kg. When it comes to the load factor I am not aware of the maximum g-force that a gyrocopter can be subject to. Perhaps it is less than 3,8 g positive due to inherent design features of a gyrocopter.
